First of all, let me list some new works I should hopefully have up soon! I've got a few watercolor pieces I've been meaning to upload, though it won't be until after next week (Finals week). I've been experimenting with the medium, and I'm really digging it. Once I have the time for some personal projects I'll prolly let fly with those. I've also got a massive costume design project with nine renderings all in watercolor due next week. I'm designing Shakespeare's 'The Tempest' with a twist: All of the main characters are dwarves. Much more fun that way. On top of that I have five foot by five foot scene painting project due. Am painting a vintage image of Puss in Boots I found online for the piece.
College for me is not a spectacular thing right now. I've been leaning farther and farther away from theatrical works. I'm not sure whether or not it's simply I'm burned out on college theater (Nearly an impossible thing, as your trying to put on shows, and do a TON of classwork all on seriously conflicting schedules!) or that my focus has truly changed. I've been very focused on puppetry and mascot work, but with my outside job, money restrictions, and classwork I've not been able to work on this at all.
More and more I'm trying to pick up on my artwork itself again. I wonder if choosing to go into theater was not the best idea. I've been leaning much more towards children's book illustration, which nearly all of my professors seem to think is a marvelous idea. I get nothing but good compliments on my classwork drawing skills, and I'm starting to feel that if I give it my all again that I could succeed at it. My love-hate relationship with my art is slowly swinging towards love... >>.....
So here's hoping for a solid return soon. I may be cleaning up my deviations soon and trying to get them better organized, and removing several that just don't make the cut for me anymore.
